About the author (2004)

William Henry Bartlett (1809-1854) was born in London and became renowned for his fine engraving on steel of places he visited during his extensive travels in the British Isles, the Americas (1839-42), the Middle East, and parts of Europe including the Balkans, France, Italy and Switzerland.
