The Manuscript, which contains the Pontifical printed in this volume, is in the Public Library of the University of Cambridge. Its Press mark is Ff. vi. 1. It is a small quarto on parchment and consists of 216 leaves with 21 lines in each page. It has musical notation, but no illumination or ornament. The book once belonged to Christopher Bainbridge, Archbishop of York from 1508 to 1514. This is plain from the forms of profession in the consecration of an abbot, which have been added in the margin of the MS fol. 167 in a later hand and which will be found at page 45 of this Volume. The Suffragan Bishop of Negropont there referred to, was John Hatton Archdeacon of Nottingham, who died in 1516. He acted under the following commission.
